This study aims to explain the benefits orof thetechnique usesbowing in practice course of major stringed instruments Music Education Study Program, Department Drama, Faculty Language and Arts, Padang State University. type research is qualitative with descriptive analysis method. The instrument researcher himself. object istechnique bowing learning string 1 3 music education program FBS UNP. subjects were students 3, lecturers instruments. Data collection techniques through literature study, observation, interviews documentation. are data reduction, presentation, drawing conclusions. results showed that use Whole Bow (WB) had not been maximized because strength index finger was strong enough push swipe straighter or controlled. legato has it able share as much on control swipe. staccato a weak pushing stiff wrist cause friction be less balanced. spiccato causes short length controlled produce shorter than staccato. wrists make evenly distributed optimal. sound due force bow both up (Up Bow) down (Down Bow).
